A greenspace designed with you in mind.
The vision for the Waterworks Greenspace originated more than a decade ago with our grassroots volunteers that wanted to see this piece of City-owned land be repurposed for public use. We, the Friends of Waterworks volunteers, have worked hand-in-hand with the Department of Watershed Management who owns the land to get this greenspace to where it is today.
But our work is not over yet! After receiving over 700 survey responses from the community we developed a masterplan for these 4.5 acres which includes trails, hammock stands, a playscape, community gathering space, and a skyline overlook. Since 2018, with the help of Upper Westside Improvement District, we've been able to maintain the greenspace and implement portions of the masterplan but there's more to come.
We need your help to spread the word about the water-treatment themed playscape and community amphitheater we're trying to build.
